InterCom makes it possible to establish an audio connection with a phone without having to actively answer the call.
One application is announcements to phones, e.g. for announcements in the consulting room of a doctor's office.
Important: Please note any necessary activations and restrictions as well as time limits. An InterCom connection is limited to 2 or 5 minutes, depending on the type and version of the PBX.
Consult the PBX manual for this.
The following settings/function keys are required for the application described here:
•InterCom source
−Configured speed dialling key with parameter activated:InterCom
•InterCom destination
−On a PBX: granted InterCom permission
−Activated function:On SIP request(is provisioned by the PBX when provisioning is activated)
−Optional:Beep when connecting, Interrupt active calls
Process at the InterCom source:
1.Press the speed dialling key configured for InterCom.
The function key LED flashes red.
2.As soon as a voice connection is established, the LED of the function key lights up red.
Process at the InterCom destination:
1.A short ringing sound will be heard when the setting is enabled:Beep when connecting.
2.A bidirectional connection is established so that a person nearby can speak to the caller via the resulting intercom.
The silent alarm function allows you to start a "silent alarm call" to any phone number. Preferably, the entered destination should be a configured InterCom destination. The connection will then be established immediately. Optionally, existing calls can be interrupted at the InterCom destination.
