Briefly tap the appropriate place on the display with the fingertip to perform one of these functions, depending on the element:
•Select
•Open
•Start
•Mark
•Switch on/off
Dragging/sliding
Vertically (scrolling)
Drag or slide from top to bottom, or from bottom to top, with the fingertip (without letting go)
•to scroll a list quickly
•to scroll web pages.
In some alphabetically sorted lists (e.g. Contacts), a vertical scroll bar is displayed on the right. Drag or slide the scroll bar upwards or downwards to scroll to the required letter.
Drag from the top edge of the display to display notifications. If you drag again, the brightness adjustment slider is displayed.
Diagonally (zoom in/out)
Drag two fingers apart or slide them together to increase or decrease the size of
•web page contents
•images in the Gallery app.
Swipe
Swipe left to right, or right to left, with the fingertip, to
•adjust settings such as for brightness, using the slider
•move between different call lists (all, missed, outgoing)
•delete messages in the notification window.
Proximity
The device is equipped with an integrated proximity sensor. When the user comes close to the device, they can control these functions:
•The device awakes from idle state.
•Silence the ring signal for an incoming call.
•Silence the call waiting tone during an active call.
Status bar
The status bar provides the following information, accessible at any time and from any menu:
New messages
Missed calls
Available updates
Unregistered identities
Warnings
To display the status bar,
•swipe from the top edge of the display to the bottom
•press the Messages key
To hide the status bar,
•swipe from the bottom edge of the display to the top
•press the Back button
aBrightness adjuster
bToggles the brightness control on or off
cPossible notification settings (alternatively by long pressing the notification)
dDeletes all notifications
Note: Delete all is only displayed when the brightness adjuster is hidden.
Virtual keyboard
You can display or hide the screen keyboard as required for text entry fields.
For this, press for approximately 2 seconds.
aMarked text
bInsertion marks
To change the marking, move the marks left or right.
cCUT
Copies the selected text to the clipboard and removes it from the current view.
dCOPY
Copies the selected text to the clipboard.
eSELECT ALL
Selects the entire text in the entry field.
fShift key
Switches between upper and lowercase letters.
gChanges between numerical and alphanumeric entry.
hSpace
iConfirms the entry and returns to the main menu.
jDeletes the entry character by character.
kKeyboard
Numerical or alphanumeric, depending on current setting.
lFINISHED
Confirms the entry and returns to the main menu.
Entry and Selection Fields
Element
Function
An empty entry field is displayed, in which you can enter a name, number or address. Tap on the entry field and enter the text or number. You can either use the screen keyboard or the keys on the telephone to enter it.
Note: Any text already present in the entry field is overwritten by the text you input.
Note: The device is equipped with a T9 dictionary. The dictionary language changes to the language set in the device. You can enter frequently-used words in the dictionary. These words are then displayed as suggestions when you are entering text.
Option fields for selecting the required setting. The selected setting is marked by a coloured dot. Tap on an option to activate it. The previous selection is disabled at the same time.
Check boxes for enabling or disabling settings and functions. An empty check box means "inactive". A selected check box means "active". To change a check box's state, tap on it.
Use the sliders to make infinitely variable settings (e.g. brightness or volume settings). The slider's position shows where the setting is. The further the slider is to the left, the lower the value that is set. The further the slider is to the right, the higher the value that is set.
Change input mode (abc < > 123).
if you want to use the keypad to enter data in fields: To toggle the input mode (abc < > 123), press and hold (for approx. 2 seconds) .

You can identify the current place in the menu structure using the breadcrumb navigation below the status line. Use the link paths to find out where you are. It simplifies navigation in complex menus. Tap on a menu option to jump to the next menu up.
