LDAP
By default, unencrypted data traffic.
LDAP StartTLS
Data traffic encrypted using Transport Layer Security.
LDAPS
LDAP via SSL technology.
Active
Switches on the directory service request.

Server
The LDAP server's domain name or IP address

Port
The LDAP server's port. On PBXs, use the preset port: port 389.

User name
User name assigned when the LDAP server was being configured. Used for identification to the LDAP server.
Note: You can find the user name in your PBX's Configuration Manager: select
User data >
Address Books >
Settings. The user name is in the
Simplified user name line, beside the
User name (e.g. cn=auerswaldschandelah,dc=auerswald).

Password
This is the password assigned when the LDAP server was being configured. It is used for identification to the LDAP server.
Note: You can find the password in your PBX's Configuration Manager: select
User data >
Address Books >
Settings. The password is in the
Simplified user name line, beside the
Password.

Search area
Point in the folder from which the LDAP search starts.
Example: BaseDN dc=auerswald
